Story One: The Left-Handed Torch

A novella from Hash & Dagger

At the center of the Crown Road stands the largest royal waystation in the kingdom—a place where travelers, workers, nobles, merchants, secrets, and stories cross paths.

Tobin arrives expecting only his first day on the job. Keep his head down. Follow instructions. Avoid making a fool of himself. Earn his coin and go home.

Then someone sends him searching for a left-handed torch.

What begins as a ridiculous errand carries him through unfamiliar halls, unusual coworkers, and the organized chaos of a waystation where almost anyone might arrive—and almost anything might happen before the end of a shift.

Tobin is not a hero. He is simply a young man trying to do his job, live his life, and find a little peace when the work is done.

But at the Crown Road Waystation, every day has the potential to become another adventure.

The Left-Handed Torch is the first story from Hash & Dagger and the first step onto the Crown Road.
